MedicX Pharmacy now open for business in Lytham

Over 1,500 patients visit Lytham’s new pharmacy in its first week of business.

The new MedicX Pharmacy, located in the state of the art Lytham Primary Care Centre, welcomed over 1,500 patients through its doors during the first full week of operation.

The pharmacy provides traditional dispensing services and sales of medicine alongside a full range of enhanced pharmacy services. It has three private consultation rooms, a patient information area including a touch screen health unit displaying local health information and a comfortable seating area with a large LCD TV screen showing a dedicated TV health channel.

For the convenience of patients and visitors to Lytham Primary Care Centre, the pharmacy hours mirror the opening hours of the GP surgeries (Monday - Friday 8:30am - 6:30pm and Saturday 8:30am - 12pm).

The pharmacy is a joint venture with Paul Minton, a long established local pharmacist.  Paul Minton and his team have relocated from the former Clifton Pharmacy, Church Road in Lytham and the new MedicX Pharmacy employs 11 people, double the size of the previous Clifton Pharmacy.

A number of complimentary health practitioners work from two of the private consultation rooms providing additional healthcare services including an acupuncturist, physiotherapist and chiropractor.

Services provided by the pharmacy team include medicine usage reviews, diagnostic screening services such as blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol testing. There are plans to introduce a full Coronary Vascular Risk Assessment service in the near future and a private flu vaccination service will be available soon.
