MedicX Pharmacy Thingwall Welcomes more than 4,000 patients

MedicX Pharmacy Thingwall has welcomed more than 4,000 patients to its register since it opened at the beginning of the year.

MedicX Pharmacy Practice Manager Gina Evans said they have had an overwhelming response to their services and facilities based in the newly built Warrens Medical Centre, which opened in February this year.

The team has also raised more than £130 for charity after organising a home-made cake sale and raffle with match-funding by MedicX Pharmacy to support Asthma UK Fundraising Week. 

Gina explained: "We're delighted to have welcomed more than 4,000 patients to MedicX Pharmacy Thingwall. Not only do we dispense medicines but we're also here to provide help and assistance about all aspects of medication, health and well-being.

"Everyone loves the setting here at the Warrens; it is a very relaxing and pleasant place to visit and with the pharmacy being open until 10pm each day including bank holidays, patients have real 'peace of mind' that they can easily  access the medicines they need.

"MedicX Pharmacy is also dedicated to providing a very personal and discreet service; when patients pick up their prescriptions, they receive it from the pharmacist in a semi-private area where they can ask questions and discuss their medication in confidence."

MedicX Pharmacy Thingwall is open every day until 10pm including weekends and bank holidays.

As well as traditional dispensing, the team also provides enhanced services such as medication reviews, diagnostic screening, testing and assessments such as free blood pressure checks and smoking cessation support. A free morning and afternoon delivery service for prescriptions from all doctors surgeries in the area is available for patients living locally in Thingwall and Heswall.

MedicX Pharmacy operates 12 pharmacy practices across the country located in Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Yorkshire as well as the South East.

Pharmacy practices are carefully and stylishly designed to enhance the patient experience from a dedicated semi-private prescription pick-up point to touch screen information, healthcare TV and large reception desks.

The company also operates a pioneering Healthspace facility which provides consultation rooms available for fellow health practitioners to provide patient services such as physiotherapy and chiropody.
